of course, obama is being out-played, out-smarted, out-maneuvered by the mullahs; he’s walking on egg shells and is adamantly opposed to sanctions legislation that WOULD ONLY TAKE EFFECT if the talks, the “talks to nowhere,” actually go nowhere. meanwhile, outside obama’s fantasy world, in the real world, the mullahs have been given more time than they would have dared to ask, they still chant “death to America,” they are actively planning terror attacks, they are busy building a regional shiite hegemony, they are proceeding with their enrichment programme, and, now, plan to intensify it. obama has put himself all in on a bet on the mullahs’ good intentions. the problem is that it is not just his bet. this is not some limited, local or personal dispute; it is not some stupid community organizing controversy or some political spat; obama has made and has stubbornly insisted on a truly foolish bet for which American regional allies and the United States, itself, will have to pay.
