The alleged gunman in Copenhagen’s dual shooting attacks, who was himself killed in a shootout with officers early on Sunday, was known to police due to his involvement in gangs, police said in a statement.

“He is a young man aged 22, born in Denmark, and he is known by police for several crimes,” the statement said.

    surely, his previous convictions are a matter of public record, so the newspaper can do a little better than just “known to police”.

    and how did a convict, just two weeks after being released from jail, obtain automatic weapons and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, without raising any alarm bells? and how did he pay for them?
