The latest missile attack from Gaza received no coverage on the BBC News website either on Tuesday evening or on Wednesday morning. Photo: Screenshot.

On the evening of Tuesday, May 26th, a missile fired from the Gaza Strip exploded near Gan Yavne – fortunately without causing any physical injuries. Several hours later, Israel responded to the attack by carrying out airstrikes on four terror infrastructure sites in the southern Gaza Strip.

This latest attack is the fifth since the ceasefire came into effect at the end of August 2014. Like the previous missile attack from the Gaza Strip a month ago and the one before that in December and indeed the one before that in October, this incident received no coverage on the BBC News website either on Tuesday evening or on Wednesday morning.

We can however ascertain that the BBC was aware of the fact that a missile attack had taken place because on the morning of May 27th a report on the Israeli response to it appeared on the BBC Arabic website under the interestingly phrased headline “Israeli warplanes launched a series of attacks on military positions of the Palestinian resistance factions in the Gaza Strip.”

In typical ‘last-first’ BBC style, that report focuses on the effect rather than the cause, with mention of the attack itself relegated to paragraphs 11 to 13 of the 15 paragraph report. No less remarkable is the BBC’s adoption and amplification of the public relations language of the terrorist organisations which portray themselves as “resistance factions”.

Entebbe: Are We Heeding the Lessons?

July 4th marks the 40th anniversary of the rescue of Israeli hostages at Entebbe. Today we are surrounded by international terrorism....

This is not the first time since the end of the conflict last August in which we have seen Israeli responses to Palestinian violations of the ceasefire agreement reported in Arabic but not in English.

Of course the BBC cannot claim to be fulfilling its public purpose of building “a global understanding of international issues” when it serially ignores the attacks which are the precursor to the next round of conflict between Israel and terrorist organisations in the Gaza Strip.

I believe BBC is part of Hamas Terror Organization. It should be called HBC (Hamas Broadcasting Corporation).

So you think the BBC is biased? This website is the most biased I’ve visited in a good while. Do you recognize that fact?

  • “Resistance” is the word used to describe innocent civilians who fought against the Nazis during World War II.

The first implication of that word is a false equation between Israel and the Nazis.

The second implication of that word is a false equation between Hamas terrorists and innocent civilians.

I write to complain every time the BBC does this sort of thing. It doesn’t make any difference but I will complain about this also.

Worldwide there were hundreds of missiles, mortars, bombs and gunshots that weren’t reported

The BBC is not in the business of reporting every incident worldwide – For that you should look at news agency reports. if you have ever sat in an office as some of the newslines appear on just five screens concurrently and without pause between items you would get a better picture of just how much news there is.

And that is an example of just five real time newslines – now imagine dozens in several languages.

The writer’s problem here isn’t BBC bias – it is scale. I used to work in a news agency, once upon a time, in the old teleprinter days- with dozens of them running constantly, plus data screens. They also monitored radio and TV

Now forty five years later there are multiples of simultaneous data.

And yet they have a middle east news section, is the rocket attack on an Israeli city not MIDDLE EAST NEWS. They have no problem publishing reams and reams of reports on israeli agression against Palestinians, and using Pro Palestinian NGO’s as “unbiased fact” reporters. So why put the cart before the horse, time and time and time again? Why not say the Palestinians fired a rocket, and Israel responds? Google “Balen report” and tell me that the BBC dosen’t have an agenda!

When will we see the anti-Israel BBC get its comeup pence it is biased,

  • Joel Keller

The BBC works hand-in-hand with the Palestinian terrorist groups. It’s been doing so for as long as I can remember.

  • The BBC has lost credit ability ,as a unbiased news service , a long time ago. Most informed and responsible , descent individuals ,have turned to other news providers. As The BBC management has lost control of their left leaning , so called jurnalists .

Newspapers are not dedicated to presenting the truth.
They are dedicated to selling newspapers. They will tell the truth when they believe it will sell more newspapers.
We should stop bleating about this fact, and learn to use it.
If we helped and encouraged newspersons to write their own experiences on OUR side, they would do so – MOST of them just want to sell interesting stories.
Public relations is a war zone that may have far greater influence than military victories on the ground during military conflict – but Israel invests almost NO effort where the enemies of Israel invest billions. We only cry how unfair the world is.

  • The BBC are bias like aljezeera. They support terrorism, I will urge or tell Benjamin Netanyahu to continue protecting Israel and take revenge hundred times on every missile the Palestine people will launch. I wish all the Arabs especially Iran to be wipe out from the surface of this earth so that there will be peace. God Bless Benjamin Netanyahu and God Bless Israel.

The West cares less about what the Muslims do. The West cares about demonizing Israel whenever possible. The West has adopted the Goebbels MO and PC.
The West suffers from a complex of INFERIORITY.

  • Fritz Kohlhaas

BBC should be deposited at garbage dump!

  • Stop wasting time, money, and lives destroy Gaza once and for all.
