De Blasio Condemns ‘Fearmongering’ as New York Adds More Cops to Combat Rising Murder Rate

AFP – Hundreds of police officers were ordered off their desks and back onto the New York streets Wednesday in an effort to crack down on a fresh increase in murders and shootings.

Around 330 officers are being reassigned until further notice to patrol 10 high-crime parts of the city, predominantly in Brooklyn and the Bronx, but also in Queens and Staten Island.
