Europe is a “very weak continent lacking the willpower to stand up and confront the evil that Iran represents,” declared the former commander of British forces in Afghanistan, Col. Richard Kemp on Monday.

Speaking to The Algemeiner, Kemp called the nuclear deal struck by world powers including the U.K., France and Germany, and Iran, “appeasement,” comparing the situation to 1930’s and and 1940’s Europe, where a series of treaties between world powers ultimately led to the outbreak of World War II.

He said there is a “deafening silence” in Europe and a lack of leadership to stand up to Iran — which he predicted would undoubtedly move to acquire nuclear weapons — and noted an overwhelming “fear of hawkishness” throughout Europe, especially among politicians and military leaders, which Kemp said includes individuals “who should know and understand the realities of the Middle East.”

But European military officials “are in a deluded world,” he continued. “Many of them don’t understand Iran.”

Stating that in Europe “we hear virtually no dissent” to the deal, Kemp claimed there has certainly been political pressure on military officials who are opposed to the July 14 agreement announced in Vienna to remain mum: “The last thing [politicians ] want is influential military leaders speaking out against the deal.”

He said he had spoken “to some generals and senior retired officials, and they’d rather just pretend the problem [posed by Iran] does not exist.”

Kemp even warned that Russia and China, two other world powers who were engaged in the nuclear talks, as well as Iran, “have far greater will power and backbone than any Western country is showing at present.”

“I fear that this kind of appeasement of Iran is going to lead to instability in Asia and the world,” he said.

Kemp also called on European military powers “to recognize the Iranian threat to Israel … We should recognize that Israel is our main ally in the Middle East.”

No, they lack the courage just like the rest of the world with the only exception being Israel.

  • Alexi

    He could’ve shortened it to:

“Europe is a “very weak continent lacking the willpower to stand up and confront”… ANYTHING.

He’d have still been right on the mark.

  • Rabbi Rosenberg words are “right on.” Good men and women need to speak out clearly, and more and more it is being heard clearly.

  • Richard, the only thing that I need to and can correct is your last sentence and change it to: Israel is not your main Ally, IT IS THE “ONLY” AND REAL ALLY in the Middle East and the only true democratic one as well!!!!!

  • David Goshen

The Arab World consists of two major blocks Sunis & Sheites.
There has been competition between these 2 blocks for hundreds of years. What President Obama did was to take sides
in the competition and to prefer the Sheites something he as President of the USA should never have done. The result is a Middle East which will be at war for a very long time.

  • Ted Crawford

True; Russia and China are exhibiting more willpower and backbone than any Western country, and what’s worse, they’re aligning with Iran!

  • Hannah Sealey

Colonrl Kemp, if you were the leader of ANY political party here in the UK, I would vote for you.

  • Thank you, General! As far as I can see both Europe and the USA are old and aging & simply no longer capable: not even of removing the scourge of islam from their own countries. They lack all will.

  • Jack

The real issue is trying to find leadership in the west that is domestically, socially and economically savvy, while not getting caught with our pants down in the international arena.
    Good luck!
As Hitler proved, if a nation wants war they will have one NO MATTER HOW MUCH APPEASEMENT IS ALLOWED.
Putin is now in the Ukraine.
Obama is not Chamberlain in any way.
    Neville believed in Adolph’s promise.
Obama will use the big stick if needed, and so will any president that comes after.
This agreement is not appeasement since Tehran could build the bomb anyway.
The vote congress should have is to go to war or not.
Anything else is what the current agreement gives.
Maybe that is what they really want.

The threat against Israel is a very successfully employed red herring – to distract attention and hide the real Iranian intentions.
Israel is the LAST country the Iranians would use a nuclear bomb against – because they know Israel would retaliate by obliterating them with their alleged doomsday stock of nuclear devices.
Their aim is to take over the middle east oil producing countries, thus gaining control of the energy sources of the west. They are already actively engaged in this all over the mideast – but as soon as they explode a single test nuclear device, they will force surrender of all the mideast moderate countries. War against them will be as dangerous as war against North orea is today – they are fanatics who will USE their terrorist weapons.
And in 15 years time, Obama’s Iranian deal will enable them to produce ICBM-borne nuclear bombs that can target the USA.
THAT is the problem, not Israel
Israel is only their “little Satan”. THE USA IS THEIR “BIG SATAN”.

Europe, what part of Europe? Germany, that started 2 World Wars that have killed millions? Russia, that is going back to be USSR-KGB enclave? Greece, Portugal, Spain and Italy that are broke? Sweden, that has no military and hires USA to protect it? France, that has lost its Frenchness to Islamo-Nazis-anti-Semites growing crowd in the country? England, that has always danced to the tune of the oil producing Islamo-Arab countries? Which Europe lacks the willpower to confront evil that Iran represents? The Europeans are all rushing to make a deal with Iran based on the $150 billion lottery prize the P5+1 have just released to the fanatics in Iran. Europe has lost its moral compass, it has become moral idiots.

  • America’s future:
The UK and Europe will fall to Islam and large parts of East and North Africa entering into a New Islamic Dark Ages.

The UK is being taken over by Islam. England future is bleak if they are lucky they are headed toward a Civil War, but a Civil War against Islam that they just might lose. They will become another Islamic slave state, with young English and American girls sold and bought as Islamic Sex slaves.

Europe is a has been. Its is cowering from any positive thinking. The only willpower its has to blast the Jews & Israel. It has cowardly accepted the betrayal of the world for a few Shekel with Obama at the fore. There is no European who has the guts to stand up against evil. The Europeans posing with the Iranian looked pitiful & comic.

I hope Col. Kemp aggressively lobbies American Senators and Congressmen. As obvious as it is, I have not heard anyone say what this deal is as clearly, and with context, as Col. Kemp:
“Kemp called the nuclear deal struck by world powers including the U.K., France and Germany, and Iran, “appeasement,” comparing the situation to 1930’s and and 1940’s Europe, where a series of treaties between world powers ultimately led to the outbreak of World War II.”

I hope Algenheimer uses its resources to aggressively lobby using Kemp’s comments as well.

  • Tony Margiocchi

Well said Sir. We live in a world that is rapidly being over run by people who call me an infidel, a kuffar and worse, just for being a Christian! Can someone please tell me when the last Christian church was built in Iran, or Syria, or pretty much any middle eastern Muslim led country? I thought not! Now, how many mosques get planning consent every day in the west? That aside, look at Iran’s human rights issues! Life itself holds no meaning. Daily executions, women forced into being slaves for the menfolk, lack of education of the females, rule by fear! The place is so volatile that to give them the chance of a nuclear weapon beggars belief! Wake up and stand up against this tyrannical hate filled country!

    • very correct. the church should also come forward to oppose this deal. Since the church of england is headed by queen Elizabeth there is equality for both men and women. hence only a strong bond between israel and england alone can solve the worlds problems

    • theo

Tony, Iraq had some 1 and a half million Christians Now there are only four hundred thousand
      That tells you something

  • Glenn Koons

Europe is morally and militarily inept and weak to be able to defend itself not only against Putin but any Islamist incursions as well as the 5th columnists (Islamists) who are harming all European states. Of course, with Obama and socialist Dems in charge, the US is too weak, fearful and morally incompetent to face down without giving into PC baloney to stand up to its domestic Islamists, and btw, illegal immigrants, and any Islamist (Iran et al) killers in the ME. So in a word, cowards.

    • Ephraim

No, actually, in a word: Traitors.

  • Please send to your Rabbi SAP. and return to abysscove@gmail.com,
Lucie Malenda Larsen. We then will sent out a full list on face book and to the media. Thank you Lucie…..

We Rabbis strongly oppose the dangerous deal with Iran that allows for easing sanctions before the nuclear threat has been completely eliminated. Any agreement with Iran that allows it to enrich uranium and lacks ‘anytime, anywhere’ inspections is extremely dangerous and unacceptable. This bad deal with … Iran is far worse than no deal and must be rejected. Crippling Iran’s economy had succeeded in weakening Iran’s negotiating position. In order to force Iran to completely abandon its nuclear program, the best course is to maintain harsh economic sanctions. The current deal provides Iran with hundreds of billions of dollars of relief that will fuel Iran’s support for terror around the world. Israel’s very existence is at stake. There can be no compromise with or appeasement of regimes that are committed to the destruction of Israel. The Jewish People cannot and will not be threatened with another Holocaust. The international community must keep the pressure on Iran with harsh sanctions and demand that its nuclear program be completely dismantled. A nuclear Iran is a threat not only to Israel but to the entire free world. Rabbi Dr. Bernhard Rosenberg

    • zadimel

To Rabbi Dr.Bernhard Rosenberg: I agree. I have nothing to add.

    • i fully agreed with Rabbi Dr Rosenberg

  • Esther noodelman

I agree completely that this is very dangerous for the whole world and something people should be paying attention

    • Sonia Willats

Indeed! To Col. Richard Kemp, to PM Netanyahu, to all the commentators – this deal makes NO SENSE other than that the “Western World” have done a deal with the barbarians at the gate, and sold themselves, their populations and Israel for a pittance – so they can trade, and continue to raise to atomic power a mad regime that openly calls for their destruction and hangs all dissenters. This is the watershed agreement for the life of the West AS WE HAVE KNOWN IT.

And as for standing for Israel – it appears that Europe has once again chosen to be silent and entertain the holocaust of the Jews; whilst America is already hijacked by a president who possibly DOES REFLECT the low estate to which America has fallen e.g by selling the body parts of murdered babies. A country that has sunk to this can certainly sell her friends to murder and destruction; though there are many good souls in America.

If sanity can prevail at this last moment, do not be tricked by the threats from Obama of divided loyalty. So NO to giving the ultimate DESTRUCT button to the mad mullahs of Iran !
