The Guardian – Israel has joined a growing chorus of concern over a reported Russian military buildup in Syria in support of the beleaguered regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

Speaking to reporters, Moshe Ya’alon, the Israeli defence minister, echoed claims by western sources that Moscow has in recent days dispatched military advisers and equipment with the main goal of setting up an airbase in the Syrian government-controlled area around Latakia.

  • In the 1980s when I consulted the leaders of the section of the old Syria map’s cities(western edge of old map, I said their lines of defense was too weak. I also advised the USSR’s military and political people to look to Syria’s defense. I did order the United States’ Peace Corps to map as it stands now. Do not blame the people there now- they were children when the defense agreements were made. Also note that all the important words you said had no impact on their actions- I say that many Israelis make money on seeming to be important. Prosper by your lies?
