Seeking to sell his nuclear deal with Iran to a skeptical Israeli public, President Barack Obama has repeatedly declared his deep affection for the Jewish state. But the feelings do not appear to be mutual.

Wide swaths of the Israeli public, particularly supporters of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have little trust in the American leader, considering him naive and even hostile. One recent poll showed less than a tenth considered him “pro-Israel.”

Israel would be foolish to rely on any American president to come to its aid in any conflict with the Arabs. The US is heavily involved in the Middle East only because of its oil. Yesterday it was because of the threat posed by the Soviet Union today because of the threat of Arab extremists. To the degree that Israel serves the US purpose it is of value. When it doesn’t its wishes will be ignored. Every president except George W. Bush acted on that premise. Bush was a sincere supporter of Israel. Obama has been its harshest critic.

The recent flap over the Iran deal has clarified certain realities. Israel can rely on American Jewish support only to the degree that it does not conflict with American Jewish devotion to liberal politics and the Democratic party.

He is not weak, it’s a strategy for the naive. Look at that picture he is laughing so hard because Israel is still stupid enough to question his motives. Truly if Israel has not figured it out by now it will take a God to save them. You know goats are much smarter than sheep. Their will be a barrage of media maneuvers all attempting to make it appear on the surface that that the U.S. Is in a penitent state for providing military and financial aid to those who are circling Israel but it is veneer and deceptive maneuvers to get Israel to drop its guard. The message after the Iranian deal will be, we can all be friends…lets hug and make up. Don’t fall for it they are moving in for the kill.
