Israel’s outgoing ambassador to the United Nations derided the international body in an interview on Sunday saying the organization was run by dictators.

Speaking to Israel’s Channel 2, Ambassador Ron Prosor, who has just completed four years of service at the UN, described the UN as a “hypocritical organization that is controlled by the hands of dictators, tyrants and non-democratic nations.”

Prosor also called the UN’s effectiveness into question, painting it as toothless. “Is the UN taking a leadership role in the Iranian matter?” he asked rhetorically. “Is the UN really providing a solution to what is happening in Syria? There is a genocide going on there. The UN, really, when it comes to the central conflicts in the world today, is not at the forefront of the solutions to these conflicts, and this springs forth from its composition.”

The ambassador, who previously served as Israel’s representative to the United Kingdom and Director-General of Israel’s Foreign Ministry, officially vacated his post on August 15. He will be replaced by Danny Danon, a former Member of Knesset for the Likud Party, Deputy Minister of Defense, and Minister of Science, Technology and Space.

sraelis and fake “palestinians” ie jordanians can live side by side but NOT in the same place,I am sorry Israel’s leaders do not understand this. Living side by side will not give peace but perpetual war. If the end product is tobe peace then arabs should be transferred to jordan whoise citizens they are since 1949 when jordan invaded Western Palestine and gave its citizenship tothese arabs. However if the end product is to be the destruction of Israel then perpetual war could be the right means arabs have in mind but Israelis should understand this is not really the best future for them. If they cannot understand this it is because politically speaking they are totally DUMB.

Personally, I would love to see Ron Prosor as either the next Prime Minister of Israel or the next President of Israel. He is a man of gravitas and great charisma as well as a man of probity and transcendent statesmanship. Evidently, he understands how to speak to power and is not afraid to do so.

      Absolutely agreed!

Wish one could say the same about his replacement.

Naor: His replacement ie Danny Danon is a million times much much better and he could be a Statesman.

Statesmanship I am NOT sure! Of course I know the UN is probably not the best place to say the truth about the Mid East but still he did not need talk about Israelis and “palestinians” living side by side. This is not Statesmanship nor intelligent words to stop arabs and leftwings’ illusions and pressures. They MUST be told the truth ie fake palestinians are jordanians who have to live in jordan whether they like it or not. Of course it can be said in a more diplomatic and there are many ways for example “Peace would come to the Mid East if Israel’s jordanians rturned to jordan” etc. Then we could call him a possible Statesman not from the way he spoke.
