A Geneva-based NGO called on the top international funders of the U.N. Palestinian refugee relief agency to fire that agency’s employees who are “inciting murderous antisemitism” on social media platforms, amid the profusion of terrorist attacks against, and among, Israelis since the beginning of October.

The group, UN Watch, compiled a list of nine employees for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency who had since the outbreak of violence posted banners, video, memes and cartoons glorifying stabbings, rock-throwing and flashing knives as an act of political protest.

Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch, released a statement, saying: “The UN and top funders of UNRWA such as the United States government must act immediately to terminate employees who are inciting murderous anti-Semitism and fueling the deadly pandemic of Palestinian attacks against Israeli Jews that have claimed innocent men, women and children, aged 13 to 78.” Seven Israelis have been killed in these attacks since the outbreak of violence this month.

One Facebook page presented by the group showed that an UNRWA employee highlighted an image with the text: “Stab Zionist dogs.” The image showed a man in the Palestinian black and white kafiyyeh holding a knife in the colors of the Palestinian flag.

Another was a cartoon with the same type of figure playing a knife as a violin with an elongated key. “A masked Palestinian is shown playing music on a violin made of a giant knife — the kind used for stabbing,” the report said.

“The picture was deleted after it was first exposed by the blogger Elder of Ziyon, though UNRWA has never condemned the incitement or announced any punitive action,” UN Watch said, referring to a popular pro-Israel blogger who regularly highlights apparent UNRWA employees on social media who also post images inciting to violence against Israelis and Jews. Other images and pages included in UN Watch’s report were also already offline.

UNRWA employs tens of thousands of people, from educators to teachers and medical professionals and it functions across the region, in Jordan, the West Bank, Gaza, Syria and Lebanon. The pages profiled by UN Watch listed jobs including UNRWA teachers, social workers and one project manager.

“UNRWA’s strategy of impunity, denial and deflection only enables more incitement and violence. It’s time to put an end to the pattern and practice of UNRWA school principals, teachers and staff members posting antisemitic and terror-inciting images, indicating a pathology of racism and violence within UNRWA that must be rooted out — and not buried, as UNRWA spokesman Chris Gunness has attempted to do by calling for boycotts of newspapers or NGOs that dare to report these incidents of hate,” said Neuer.

In addition to firing employees who incite to violence, UN Watch called for an investigation of “the culture of impunity for perpetrators of racism and incitement that pervades UNRWA.”

UN Watch, like the Israeli government, has accused many U.N. organizations of acting with a double standard for or even “obsessing” about Israel, often citing the fact that the U.N. Human Rights Council, in its nine years of history, has passed more resolutions condemning Israel than the rest of the world’s countries combined.

Nothing changes, the UN needs to be disbanded as it has
now become an anti-israel-Jew org. Not fit for purpose.

Why don’t you publish the names of these nine miscreants?
Along with that publish some of their biographical data.
UNRWA is nothing but a gravy rain for a lot of UN associated scumbags, and everyone working for it should be liable to arrest and prosecution.

Check out Elder of Ziyon blogspot. He plublishes names, facebook pages and Instagram accounts.

  • Congratulations, UN Watch!

  • The anti Israel movement in the U.N. is nothing new. In the mid 70’s, Moynihan stood at the U.N. podium and rebuked the sentiment that Zionism is the same as racism. I am familiar with U.N. Watch and they do a lot of good work in trying to expose the wide spread corruption and bigotry displayed at the U.N. However, I have never gotten an answer from the many people I have asked as to why the U.N. is not either completely gutted and revamped or dissolved. The U.S. is a major contributor of funding the U.N. and we should use this clout to force change at the U.N. There is a two step process in solving problems. The ability to recognize a problem exists and taking measures to solve the problem. Problems left untreated, only get worse, they never fix themselves.

The UN founded by the Worlds government to foster peace has never been a friend to Israel.Only the little people of the world care for Israel’s welfare. The world’s Rich and powerful are too busy protecting their oil investments which aquIts to supporting the distruction of Israel.

Why don’t the nation’s sympathetic to Israel just stop funding UNRWA? I am sure that without US, Canadian, UK Indian and Australian funds they would have to fire a lot of people and many of them would be the Jew Haters!

This is not a surprise that we now read about the U.N. Human Rights Council and their other cohorts. I believe, that Canada was rejected to sit on the Human Rights Council, but any other thug country can and does.

It’s unbelievable that we are still supporting and giving money to these anti-Semites.

Stop the money and get rid of this useless bunch of free loaders.

UNRWA in the Middle East has no other function but to perpetuate the myth that Palestinian Arabs, who are descendants of those who chose mainly to be displaced in the wars to destroy Israel, are still refugees.
The obvious solution is to abolish UNRWA and establish a UN task force to address current refugee problems such as in Syria.

The trouble with the UN Watch action is that it is an attack on what might be portrayed as an exception in UNWRA, rather than the rule. It is a treatment of an ugly symptom, instead of action to stem an even uglier disease — that is UNRWA as a whole.
This is a UN anomaly created to perpetuate for generations (by now the 4th or even 5th) the “plight” of Palestinian refugees, the vast majority of whom chose to flee in order to return with victorious Arab armies. They failed, so the “International Community” has been rewarding them, with the help of even Israel’s allies, for the past 67 years.
They are the only group of refugees, at least in the past 100 years, that were not offered any kind of resettlement option, but rather were encouraged, forced, and even paid (by UNWRA as well as some Arab states) to remain refugees and be used as political pawns.
It has been suggested that these refugees be resettled in place of the similar number of Jewish refugees from Muslim countries, who were expelled or fled from those countries around 1948 or shortly thereafter. And those countries be made to give these Palestinian refugees the properties and wealth left behind by the Jewish refugees.
This has generally been offered just as a debating argument in the propaganda battle with the Palestinians and their friends. It is time to make it a real demand and promote it vocally and vociferously in the UN, in the international arena, and especially among the so-called friends of Israel and the left-leaning states that proclaim their undying fealty to social justice!

The US and the rest of the West should discontinue funding the UNRWA, an agency that ensures the Arab world can continue their apartheid against the Palestinians.

  • Reform School

If the UN loves the Palestinians so much, why don’t they move from New York to Gaza?

  • Yale

Until the culture that promotes hatred of Jews and Israel is excised from the UN itself, it is highly unlikely that body will do anything about one of its off-shoots that does that.
