A Facebook group posted a video of a child being bitten by a dog, pointing to the incident as an example of “Israeli brutality,” pro-Israel blogger Elder of Ziyon reported on Tuesday.

The administrator of the social media community, going by the name of “Immortal Che Guevara” – an homage to the late Argentinian Marxist guerrilla terrorist – commented: “Palestinian child is bitten by a dog, which is incited, between laughter, by Israeli terrorist. Where’s the humanity better yet where is God [sic].”

However, Elder of Ziyon discovered, the events shown in the video, which was posted on December 22, and was shared more than 1,000 times, actually took place in Algeria in April.

On the community page, “Immortal Che Guevara” appeals to followers: “BE POLITE! And NO NASTY COMMENTS!! And NO PERSONAL INSULTS! And NO BLOCKING OR BANNING OF THE ADMINISTRATOR! And NO BLOCKING OR BANNING OF ANYONE!”

Elder of Ziyon refers to the use of the falsely attributed video as “Today’s Pallywood,” referring to the phenomenon of media distortion and manipulation, used by the Palestinians in their PR war against Israel in the international arena. The term became common, following the release of the 2005 documentary by Richard Landes called “Pallywood: According to Palestinian Sources.”
