Early Sunday evening, a terrorist stabbed 39-year-old Dafna Meir to death in front of her teenage daughter at their home in the town of Otniel, near Kiryat Arba in the West Bank.

Meir, who reportedly fought her Palestinian attacker to protect her children, leaves behind a husband and four children, aged 11 to 17.

A search is ongoing for the Palestinian attacker.

Thus far, the GuardianIndependentTelegraph and Times of London have all ignored the story.

Interestingly, the Indy did find time to publish an unrelated article by its Middle East correspondent on how Palestinians are “united” by Israel’s revived policy of demolishing terrorists’ homes. This article, by Ben Lynfield, was published more than 6 hours after the attack in Otniel.

Minutes before this post was published, another terror attack occurred in Tekoa, southeast of Jerusalem in the West Bank, where a pregnant woman in her 30s was stabbed and moderately wounded by a Palestinian assailant. The victim was evacuated to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

We’ll update this post if major UK news sites do eventually report on either of these latest attacks.

Meir was the 29th person killed since the latest wave of Arab terror began on October 1.

Times are complicated to work out when there a number of locations involved – According to the time on the online Guardian as we receive it in Australia the attack was reported online at approximately 3.39pm Monday London Time

The attack took place at about 3pm Sunday London Time – with reports of it therefore missing the Sunday Observer newspaper, which is the Guardian’s companion newspaper

The timeline would suggest that the Beaumont article was not available and edited in time for the Monday morning Guardian, but was available by mid afternoon when it was published online

    http://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jan/18/palestinian-with-knife-attacks-female-israeli-settler-in-west-bank-settlement

I do not think the time delay unreasonable. Beaumont’s article detailed the tragedy of the murder and the grief of the bereaved

I find it very distasteful for the writer of this article to seek to make political capital out of this horror. I think she also needs to be reminded that the Guardian newspaper is nowadays largely an online service read worldwide. The electronic edition is bound to be ahead of the print edition

The BBC had already reported the attack online on Sunday evening whilst the manhunt was underway

I wrote a letter to Sky News who quoted Jerusalem Post regarding the visit of the Pope to a synagogue in Rome, while ignoring the murder of Dafna Meir, z”l.

I received an automated response in which they stated they did not respond to emails because there were so many!

May her name be for a Blessing.

What can we expect from the English press?
They have always been haters of Jews and Israel

They are funded by the Arab Islamic states, and publish what they are told to publish.

Here in Cape Town, the Cape Times always refers to terrorists in Israel, as “miltant”

I wrote to the Cape Times to refer to the way they present news reports.

Some months ago, they wrote an article with huge, black headine.
PALESTINIAN DRIVER SHOT AND KILLED BY ISRAELI POLICE
Under that, the story was that this was a road accident.

I wrote to ask if they know the difference between a terrorist and a militant.

There was an article that a terrorist tried to enter a police staion in paris. He had a knife in his hand, He was shot dead by the police

    Never had a reply,

So, terrorist in Israel, who murder Israelis are “militants”
But in any other country, they are terrorists.

The Cape Time is owned by Muslims

Could it be that, as a mother trying to protect her children while being attacked in her own home, she might have aroused too much sympathy in the readership?

  • art frank

What do you expect. The country is rooted in centuries old Jew hatred inspired first by the roman catholic church and then by the anglican church. england is on its way to become muslim, which they so richly deserve. Jews shout leave that cesspool of a country.,

  • ZG

I guess the CBC takes it’s cue from the BBC.Not a word from their Jerusalem correspondent about this beastial murder. Can you imagine the media frenzy is this would have Ben a Jewish extremist killing a Pal mother of 6? All the interviews with the husband, children, relatives etc.
It’s about time for the Israeli leadership to send all the hateful correspondents to live in Gaza or Ramalla.

Neither did the rape of hundreds of English girls by the Asian of ….Muslim background. Turpitude starts at home with the ELITE.

  • Michael

French media has totally ignored it as well. Then did however report on anti-Christian graffiti found in Jerusalem. Question of priorities I guess.

  • S. Benson

Not surprised. She was not a person, not an Israeli.
She was a “Settler” and thus warranting neither concern nor pity. In the warped morality we see all around us, “human rights” do not apply to people who live in the “occupied territories.”
A young woman at home with her children has the same moral standing as a criminal wielding a weapon: she can be summarily killed.
But if her assailant is found and killed, it will be reported as an “extrajudicial assassination.”

    Sigh.

    • Michael Garfinkel

To S. Benson – your comment sums up the disgusting moral inversion prevalent in the West, and particularly so in Britain and Sweden.

This begs the question, at least for me:
Isn’t it time for the Israeli authorities to finally “take the gloves off” and deal with this holocaust-in-slow- motion, decisively?

And isn’t the expulsion of the BBC, the New York Times, and other media organs that, if not actually engaged in inciting violence, advocate for its legitimacy – also past due?

To ask these questions is to answer them.

    • Shlomo Liberman

The murderer was apprehended last night in a nearby Palestinian village. He is 15 years old! He wasn’t killed or even wounded so noone can accuse Israel of “extrajudicial killings.“ But maybe they will find other outlandish accusations like “brainwashing or torturing him to confess.“
