Iran’s Supreme Leader praised the naval unit that detained US sailors earlier this month, Iran’s semi-official state news agency Fars  reported on Monday.

During a meeting with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps unit, Ali Khamenei said it had done an “excellent job.” He admiringly called the capture of the American sailors a “courageous action” demonstrating the “strong faith” of the IRGC forces.

He told the unit that “divine will” had ordained the fall of the Americans into their hands in a humiliating manner, “[surrendering] with their hands above their heads.”
