JNS.org – U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Wednesday stood by his criticism of what he called Israel’s “stifling occupation” of the Palestinian people, rejecting remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he was “encouraging terrorism.”

On Tuesday, Ban said the current wave of Palestinian terror in Israel—in which the attacks are predominantly, though not exclusively, occurring in the vicinity of Jerusalem and across the 1967 lines—is understandable because it is “human nature to react to occupation.”

Israel’s settlement activities are “an affront to the Palestinian people,” Ban said. In response, Netanyahu issued a statement that “the comments of the U.N. secretary-general encourage terror. There is no justification for terror.”

On Wednesday, Ban would not back down from his earlier comments, saying that Palestinians “watch as Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, including east Jerusalem, expand and expand…[and] after nearly 50 years of occupation—after decades of waiting for the fulfillment of the Oslo promises—Palestinians are losing hope.”

ISIS Threatens US With Attacks in Retaliation for Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital

Islamic State threatened attacks on US soil in retaliation for the Trump administration's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital...

Ban’s criticism echoes the recent comments of U.S. Ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro, who said that too much “vigilantism” goes unchecked by Israeli authorities, and that in the disputed territories, “at times there seems to be two standards of adherence to the rule of law—one for Israelis and another for Palestinians.”

Since last fall, 30 Israelis have been killed in terrorist shootings, car-rammings, and stabbings, including the latest victim, 23-year-old Shlomit Krigman. She was killed after being critically wounded on Monday in a Palestinian stabbing attack in Beit Horon, where she was on her way to a visit with her grandparents. Krigman was laid to rest Tuesday at Jerusalem’s Har Hamenuchot cemetery beside the grave of Dafna Meir, an Israeli mother of six who was the Palestinian terror wave’s 29th victim.

Meanwhile, Hamas admitted that it lost contact with eight diggers after a tunnel the Palestinian terror group was digging collapsed due to bad weather. The admission shows that Hamas, which took control of the Gaza Strip in 2007 after Israel’s withdrawal from the coastal enclave in 2005, is working to rebuild the network of terror tunnels running underground into southern Israel, a network that was largely destroyed by the IDF during 2014’s Operation Protective Edge.

PARASHA POETRY: YITRO SAW, YITRO HEARD
    By Evelyn Haies,
    January 27, 2016
Author of the Plague Series, because their hearts are softened to accept the Unacceptable.

    Yitro saw
He saw the Jews set free
    The splitting of the sea

    Yitro heard
He heard the words of the LRD
    HIS heavenly accord

    Yitro recognized the truth
    Honesty, humility, unity, charity
    He disregarded the uncouth
    No thievery, gossip, slander, covetry

    Yitro was GDfearing
    No idolatry, adultery, bigotry.
    He was daring
He dared to put the nation’s health above self and wealth.

    Yitro was caring
    Respected fathers, mothers, brothers
He rejected flattery, bribery, slavery to the upper classes.
He offered a system of justice for all as significant others.

Yitro protected Bnei HASHEM with the laws of Sinai.
Yitro judged; he would not be budged by lies.

He enabled Moshe to see the facts and be wise
So the nations in holiness would rise

He saw through all the illusions
    Acted against delusions and confusions.

    Yitro understood what to stress,
Professing Torah is a test against wickedness.

    Accepting what HASHEM revealed
    Israel’s nationhood would be sealed

    Accepting unity with humility,
Not the futility of me-ism, my-ism, division, revisionism
There was no excuse for conceit, deceit
Hierarchy was a path to anarchy.

Yitro saw; he saw the hand of GD
He chose this derech to defeat the cheat

Yitro saw truth as the cure
Yitro heard, demanded all be pure.
    Yitro saw; Yitro heard; accepted GD”s word;
Torah is the cure. Torah must be law.

    Yitro saw! Yitro heard!

What can you expect? He is a moonbat. When this dark angel gets his wings they will be leather ones. The only occupation he is concerned with is what he calls occupation that can be traced to Israel. Blood can be running in the streets, children’s heads can be cut off, Christians beheaded, infidels beheaded, mass shootings, atrocities on a scale of heretofore never seen on planet earth….if moonbats are the root of those conflicts silence is the only sign you will get from him and his cohorts. But let Israel appear to step out of line while defending itself and the moonbat will suddenly issue worldly condemnation. What’s does God have in store for this mans future. Guana tons of guana, grapes of wrath, in fact in approximately 7 years give or take a few….this man and his cohorts will be eradicated from earth permanently…unless they have a change of heart. Take for instance Brazil and their feisty congressman who’s main concern a few months ago was banning An israeli ambassador who was guilty of the crime of expanding Israeli settlements. God has an answer for Brazil….got pestilence? Oh yeah, you have pestilence and on a scale of ten it will be an eleven. God wants to know….what do you feel the rest of the world thinks about the olympics in a pestilence infected region of the world. What the antisemitic leaning country’s of the world must understand, very quick, is that God is not playing bump and tickle anymore, He is playing Bump and Thump!! Your Out!! God is enraged and he is going to destroy anyone and everything that gets in his way as he is establishing his kingdom on earth…and he will stop at nothing. Christians are warned in revelation to prepare to die because some will in all likelihood be caught in the crossfire of these tribulation wars but God tells us to stand firm, holdfast to the end and we will be saved either in death or by surviving miraculously to the end. Israel will have to fight it out with the psalm 83 confederacy that comes against them. Israel has been appointed by God to fight it out to the end as they war against the forces of the antichrist. God, with Israel…will still be reaping a harvest of sheep worldwide…collateral damage is the cost of doing business…Gods business…Gods objective for Israel is to deliver the remnant..the lost sheep, the deceived nations, and those nations struggling to stay in good standing with God.

So I guess if Americans were stabbed to death during the Iraq occupation, that would have been ok? Inciting the intentional killing civilians, as Abbas did, is a war crime that the head of the UN says is ok.

“decades of waiting for the fulfillment of the Oslo promises—Palestinians are losing hope.” Have the Palestinians lived up to any of their obligations under the Oslo Accords? One of the main one was to stop incitement. Another was to work with the Israelis to determine final borders. The Palestinians have refused to do either.
The Palestinians have no reason to try to reach a peaceful, two-state solution because their paying the perpetual victim card works for them. The world treats them as children, unable to be held responsible for their own actions.
The success of those actions are being played out in Europe today with the influx of immigrants.
Israel is the canary in the coal mine.

btw: here’s something that the despicable apologist for terrorists should know: it’s human nature to react to a moron-fool-apologist for terrorists. what’s that you hear him say? “oh, that’s different!” it shouldn’t be different.

ban is an enemy of the Jewish People and Israel who depends upon their civility, decency and restraint: he’s not afraid of a knife attack or decapitation or a bomb thrown at him by Jews, is he? the repellent fool doesn’t have to worry about the honesty or decency of his attacks on the Jews.

ban is a cowardly, morally obtuse and intellectually lazy enabler of the anti-Jewish racists in tehran, gaza, ramallah, beirut, i.s., etc. ban is a disgusting ally of genocidal jihadists.

  • Joesph Stein

Its time for this morally bankrupt, astonishingly useless, and shamefully Jew-hating cesspool known as the UN to quit its occupation of prime New York real estate. It and the ICJ would find better weather and more like-minded friends in any one of 21 failed Islamic dictatorships. Both should be sent packing.
Article 80 of the UN charter and the doctrine of estoppel prevents any of the existing 51 member nations that voted unanimously to uphold the articles of the fore-running 24 July 1922 League of Nations Mandate for Palestine from acting against Israel as it does now.

LONMP Article 6: The Administration of Palestine, while ensuring that the rights and position of other sections of the population are not prejudiced, shall facilitate Jewish immigration under suitable conditions and shall encourage, in co-operation with the Jewish agency referred to in Article 4, close settlement by Jews on the land, including State lands and waste lands not required for public purposes.

Land title to Judea, Samaria, Jerusalem, and the Golan heights belongs to the Jewish people. According to the rule of international law, the UN is obligated to ‘encourage close settlement by Jews on the land.’
