Tehran has a “principled policy” to support anti-Israel groups, including Hamas, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Monday, Iran’s regime-aligned Tasnim New Agency reported.

Hossein Jaber Ansari made this statement during his weekly press conference, where he also denied recent reports according to which Hamas complained that it had not received financial aid from Iran since 2009.

“Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution (in 1979), the Islamic Republic of Iran has declared that supporting the Palestinian nation and the Palestinian Resistance Movement is among its fixed policies and has continuously taken some measures on this path,” he said, reiterating that Hamas is part and parcel of this movement.
