Slain US Student, Veteran Mourned by Former Comrade-in-Arms
A comrade-in-arms of the American tourist and US Army veteran who was murdered by a Palestinian terrorist in Tuesday’s attack in Jaffa-Tel Aviv described Taylor Force to the Hebrew news site Walla on Wednesday.
David Campos-Contreras, who served under Force in Afghanistan, called Force a “wonderful, decent and a genuine human being” — and like “my perfect older brother”when they were overseas.
“When we were in Afghanistan, we fought against terrorism,” Campos-Contreras said. “And now it is he who has become a victim of terror.”
Force, a Vanderbilt University graduate student who had previously attended West Point and served as a US Army Artillery Field officer in Iraq and Afghanistan, was visiting Israel on a school trip. He was killed by a Palestinian terrorist on a stabbing spree near the Jaffa Port. Several Israelis were also wounded in the attack, as was Force’s wife, who is being treated in an Israeli hospital for serious wounds.
