The UK Jewish community expressed dismay over what it considers to be false coverage by the BBC of the Palestinian terror wave that has rocked Israel for the past six months, the Jewish Chronicle reported on Thursday.

According to the report, members of the Board of Deputies of British Jews met this week with James Harding, the head of the BBC’s news division, to voice this sentiment.

“We raised strong concerns about misleading headlines in reports about attacks in Israel, the lack of reports about a large number of attacks and an almost total lack of reporting about incitement and corruption in the Palestinian Authority,” Board of Deputies president Jonathan Arkush said in a statement released after the meeting. “We conveyed to Mr. Harding fully and clearly the feeling within the Jewish community about these matters.”

However, according to the JC, Arkush – a trustee of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust – made a point of thanking Harding during the meeting for the BBC’s live broadcast of the commemoration.

In his statement, Arkush added, “The BBC said they were open to dialogue and we intend to pursue the conversation with the BBC on a regular basis.”

BBC coverage of Israel has been the focus of several pieces in The Algemeiner by members of BBC Watch, an affiliate of the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA), which has accused the news outlet of erasing Israeli victims from reports of Palestinian terror attacks and sidelining the story of Hamas terror tunnels.

It appears that our adversaries say one thing to their people and another to the Western world. This should be conveyed regularly. A few months ago, a vradio oice exhorted the Arab world to be of greater help by saying “We are your brothers, We are all Egyptians, Iraqis, Syrians, Saudis. You all should join us in our struggle!”

Realize that the BBC is racist!

The BBC, as the bought and paid for propaganda arm of the EU, attacks everything non-Islamic. Perhaps if the UK votes to leave the EU on June 23, we will be able to shut the BBC down, and start supporting worthy countries such as Israel.

I have been complaining about BBC antisemitism for 20 years. This is reality. The mainstream news is controlled by governments and it is the roots of antisemitism today. Governments across this planet today use Jews as the world scapegoats as a deflection to hide failure of their own governance. AFP is even worse!!

  • The BBC likes dead Jews (the Holocaust) it is living Jews it can’t stand. The BBC appears to have a policy of hiring presenters/interviewers/broadcast journalists both in front of and behind the camera who are Muslims and therefore have an axe to grind This combined with journalists fed on the poison published in The Guardian and the Independent means that the BBC will NEVER be objective and fair about Israel and it insinuates anti-Israel sentiments into every nook and cranny of its news and current affairs broadcasts.

    Only now? What happened?

one example of the misleading reports by the BBC was on a day that terror struck Russia, and on the same day, terror struck Israel. in those reports, the word terror was changed by the BBC to militants when referring to Israel. at the same time, BBC’s report on Russia kept the word terror in the report on what was done to Russia.

in other examples, a number of times Israel was attacked by Palestinians and then Israel went after the Palestinians who did so. the BBC headlines were Israel kills Palestinians when the headline should have been, accurately, Israel attacked, fires on attackers. the way the headline was written, results in a very different picture of what happened. the wrong headline is a distortion of the facts and misleads the listener as to what happened. it also misleads the listener about Israel.

Dialogue? Oh, please, all those degenerate lavender tie boys at the BBC love sniping at the Jews. It’s in their rotten stinking blood.

    Sounds like the Australian ABC!

Arkush doesn’t seem to have commented on the correctness/incorrectness of the reporting?

BBC lies and then lies some more when the subject is Israel or Islamist violence and they lie most about Islamist violence against Israel.

Their bias is measurable as it is contemptible. The Deputies should take the gloves off and bring a court action against the BBC, under British anti-bigotry statutes; as an entity supported by the Crown, they have a special duty to accuracy; their ads proclaim themselves the world’s news organization. They are using the government money to promote bias and, ultimately violence, witness the uptick in antisemitic violence in the UK.

Jews worldwide must face the world we live in without blinders: the time has come to fight for our rights and our dignity. Israel can handle the military part, we need to do the rest- get the enemy into court and make them pay the price for their wicked bigotry.
