Donald Trump sparked a social media explosion Saturday when he tweeted an anti-Hillary Clinton graphic that used a red six-pointed star to tag his likely Democratic opponent as the “Most Corrupt Candidate Ever.”

The post got Twitter users fighting over whether the shape was meant to be a Star of David on a sheriff’s badge, to evoke the ongoing FBI investigation of Clinton’s handling of classified emails while Secretary of State.

    The whole thing is ridiculous. The hexagram (six-pointed star) has been used for a variety of purposes over the millennia, and it has only been in relatively recent times that it became associated with Judaism. Another case of much ado over nothing. All the candidates are objectionable enough without having to make up things about them.
