JNS.org – An Israeli civilian was spotted jumping the border fence in Hamas-controlled Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday. The IDF were able to ascertain that the civilian is a Bedouin man. The incident is under investigation, according to reports.

This is the third time an Israeli citizen has crossed into the Gaza Strip. Avraham Mengistu, a 29-year-old from Ashkelon, climbed the barrier between Israel and the strip on September 7, 2014.

The IDF believes he is being held captive by Hamas. The second Israeli citizen is a Bedouin, Hisham al-Sayed, who crossed into Gaza in April 2015. He suffers from schizophrenia. Neither Mengistu or al-Sayed have been heard from since they left Israel.
