JNS.org – Republican-Jewish philanthropist Sheldon Adelson and his wife Miriam are denying that they turned away former presidential candidate Sen. Ted Crux (R-Texas) from their private suite after Cruz did not endorse official Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in his speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC), according to a friend of the Adelsons, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, who was in their suite at the time.

In the aftermath of Cruz’s speech, reports had indicated the Adelsons turned Cruz away when he tried to enter their suite, and quoted Sheldon Adelson as saying that he reneged on his original invitation to Cruz.

“The Adelsons are friendly with Senator Cruz, and whatever their feelings about his speech tonight, that friendship remains intact,” said Boteach, the Associated Press reported.

“They would never have behaved disrespectfully to anyone, much less a friend who is a United States senator and a staunch friend of Israel,” he added.
