Over the past year, Israel has “won an unprecedented amount of victories” at the United Nations, the Jewish state’s envoy to the global institution said in a Rosh Hashanah video greeting published on Facebook on Sunday.

“For years, we’ve stuck to the narrative that the UN hates us, that the UN enables antisemitism and allows obsessive anti-Israel resolutions to be passed,” Danon said. “But this doesn’t mean we should give up.”

Danon listed a number of recent Israeli successes at the UN, including: the Israeli emergency response organization ZAKA receiving official UN consultative status; Yom Kippur being recognized as an official UN holiday; and Danon himself being elected as chair of the UN Legal Committee.

“We didn’t hesitate to spread the truth about Israel in the halls of the UN,” Danon said. “And we didn’t give up even when they tried to censor us.”
