by Ruthie Blum
The final moments of Sunday morning’s shooting spree in Jerusalem, which left 29-year-old police officer Yossi Kirma and 60-year-old Lavana Malihi dead and at least six others wounded, was documented by an observer on the roof of a nearby building and posted on Israel’s Channel 2 news site.
The video shows the gunfight in which the Palestinian terrorist, a resident of east Jerusalem’s Silwan neighborhood, was finally killed by Israeli security forces.
Channel 2 also released the recording of the phone call made by a witness at the scene to emergency responder Magen David Adom (MDA), in the midst of the terrorist attack, to request an ambulance.
The following is the transcript of the call:
Witness: “Hello, there is shooting at the light rail. Ammunition Hill. One person is on the ground. Here, still firing. Wow. Wow.”
MDA operator: “Listen, listen to me. First of all, get away from the area. Move away and tell me what you saw, what you managed to see.”
Witness: “A woman is now lying on the ground.”
MDA operator: “Yes, yes. Only one?”
Witness: “Wow. Wow.”
MDA operator: “Only one? What is it? Shooting? Stabbing?”
Witness: “Shooting, shooting.”
MDA operator: “Do you see more people?”
Witness: “No, no. Only one.”
MDA operator: “I am asking you to move away from the area.”
Witness: “I’m moving, I’m moving.”
MDA operator: “Is it inside the train?”
Witness: “I’m not on the train. I was in a car.”
MDA operator: “Is the shooting taking place inside the train?”
Witness: “The shooting isn’t inside the train; it seems not to be. The woman is outside, lying on the ground.”
MDA operator: “Ok, ambulances are on their way. Thank you and get away from the area.”
