‘Wonder Woman’ Gal Gadot Explains Israel’s Electoral System to Talk-Show Host Jimmy Kimmel
by Shiryn Ghermezian
Famed Israeli actress Gal Gadot contrasted the Israeli and American electoral systems during an interview on ABC‘s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Thursday night, saying that the US process is “not at all” like that of her country.
The “Wonder Woman” star said she had watched the third and final US presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, and explained how the Jewish state elects its leaders. (In Israel, for example, voters opt for a party among many, and the head of the party with the most votes is called on to form the government — a coalition of parties.) In addition, she explained, though a US president is limited to two four-year terms, an Israeli prime minister has no such restriction.
Kimmel asked Gadot if she, as Wonder Woman, had considered a run for prime minister of Israel. Gadot replied, “Actually, no, I haven’t.”
“Wonder Woman” will premiere on June 2, 2017.
