A popular neo-soul singer expressed excitement about becoming the first high-profile Kenyan musician to perform in Israel, ahead of her upcoming trip to the Jewish state, the Nairobi News reported over the weekend.

According to the report, award-nominated vocalist and actress Wendy Kimani said she “can’t wait” to join Israeli singer Gilad Millo in concert during this year’s Jamuhuri Day celebrations at the Kenyan Embassy in Tel Aviv on Dec. 10.

The pair will then present “Gilad and Wendy Live in Israel” as part of a promotional tour for their new song “Usiende,” the Kenyan news outlet Daily Nation reported.

Kimani and Millo have collaborated so far on two songs and have performed live together for the past two years. After their concerts in Israel, they will perform in Amsterdam, where Kimani now lives. Speaking of her Israeli partner, she said she and Millo share “the same feel for music.”
