Variety Show Host Jimmy Kimmel Welcomes Back ‘Hanukkah Unicorn’ for Annual Holiday Skit, Dreidel Song

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” devoted a few minutes of Thursday night’s program to an annual Hanukkah guest — Gary, one of the ABC show’s writers, who appears every holiday, dressed as a unicorn with a menorah on its head.
This year’s “Chanucorn” skit was a spoof on TV specials for Christmas, which — Kimmel pointed out — coincides with Hanukkah this season, for the first time since 1978. Quipping about the act, which he claimed was going on too long, Kimmel made the Chanucorn vow not to return.
“I swear on my bubbie’s tchotchkes,” the character said — an inside joke for Jews, whose grandmothers are ostensibly famous for collecting and decorating their homes with kitschy knick-knacks.
Also featured in the skit was actor Joey Fatone, former NSYNC boy-band member, who was carried on stage — hoisted in the air on a chair — by four kippah-wearing men. To applause and laughter from the audience, Fatone belted out the children’s Hanukkah song, “I Have a Little Dreidel.”
