IDF Official Confirms Hezbollah Using American Military Equipment in Syrian War
by JNS.org
JNS.org – A senior officer in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has confirmed that the Lebanon-based terror group Hezbollah is using American-made military equipment to fight in Syria.
The anonymous source said Hezbollah took the US armored personnel carriers (APCs) from the Lebanese armed forces, the Jerusalem Post reported.
“We have shared this information with other countries, including the US, of course,” the officer added.
Last month, Hezbollah held its first-ever military parade in Syria, showcasing a wide array of equipment including Soviet-made T-72 tanks, Russian Kornet anti-tank missiles, rapid response motorcycles, KS-12A anti-aircraft weapons and, most notably, the American-made M113 APCs.
At the time, US officials said that they were investigating how Hezbollah came to possess the APCs, with initial reports suggesting the carriers were from a military aid package of several dozen weapons pieces America gave to Lebanon last summer.
