JNS.org – President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for US ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, participated in a Hanukkah candle-lighting ceremony in New York on Sunday, the second night of the holiday.

Friedman, an Orthodox Jew, lit the “Chabad of the Five Towns” menorah in Cedarhurst Park, Long Island, marking the 15th year he has done so, as part of Chabad-Lubavitch’s worldwide Hanukkah celebration. The Chabad movement has more than 15,000 large public menorahs in more than 90 countries around the world, including in front of the White House, the Eiffel Tower and the Kremlin.
