Ahead of US Secretary of State John Kerry’s Mideast policy speech on Wednesday, a member of the Israeli cabinet blasted the countries that supported Friday’s UN Security Council Resolution 2334, declaring a Jewish presence beyond the 1967 armistice lines illegal, the Hebrew news site nrg reported.

Transportation, Intelligence and Atomic Energy Minister Yisrael Katz said with disgust, “States to which Israel has been providing intelligence to assist them in preventing terrorist attacks on their soil sat there and voted against us at the UNSC.”

In sharp contrast to Katz — a member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party — opposition politicians, among them Zionist Union MK Tzipi Livni, defended the resolution, while criticizing what she considers to be the reason behind it.

“In the sea of curses that the Netanyahu government is hurling at the world, it is our job to distill the truth,” Livni said. “The entire world is not against the state of Israel, but rather against the settlement policy of the Israeli government. In times of war against enemies, we will stand by the government’s side, but we will not stand beside a government that turns our friends into enemies through its policies.”

A prominent leader of the settler movement Oded Revivi, head of the Efrat Regional Council, called Kerry — with whom he met a few weeks ago — “disconnected from reality,” a “headline-seeker” who “confuses facts with wish[ful thinking].”

Kerry delivered his speech — dubbed “Remarks on Middle East Peace” — at 11 am EST Wednesday at the State Department.

Disagree with BY. If a country is substantially aided, perhaps it need not pay a fee, as most should, in any case, but it certainly owes a debt of gratitude andresponsiveness to Israel. to take from the tiny country in major ways, then turn and betray Israel is abhorrent and self-defeating. I have decided not to visit those countries that vote against Israel. A small gesture, but important to know that quisling behavior is not forgivable.

  • The UN Security Council proved the world is against Israel by voting for the Anti-Israel resolution. Those so-called settlements are really apartments not temporary dwellings. Israel is in a diplomatic war, and all Jews must stand by Israel’s side. Finally, the Arab-Israel conflict persists because Arabs deny Israel’s right to exist as the Jewish nation.

How many times have there been an elimination and suspension of settlement expansion in hopes of some sort of cooperative response? Instead, the response has been defiance because of international, anti-Semitic support to redefine history, ignore reality and again subject Jews to their new waive of persecution. Why ask to negotiate when the response is to first require Israel to commit national suicide? As long as Israel remains a dominant economic player, it can resist anything the cowardly anti-Semities throw and validate the superior value of their existence that is well above that of the corrupt, savage, Islamic Palestinian thugocracy. BUILD, ISRAEL. BUILD!

Livni and the Israeli left are as utterly delusional as the Jews who elected Obama TWICE and the leftists of America

I ask Livni and her supporters, with whom should Israel make peace? Are not the publicly declared intention in the CHARTERS of Hamas & PLO is the ERADICATION of Israel & Jews OFF the face of the Earth?

To make peace, one needs a partner. For 68 years the Arabs have had a SINGLE goal: the EXTERMINATION of Israel and the Jews

Did not Bill Clinton tell the world that Arafat was the one who REFUSED to make peace with Israel?

Personally, I would send Livni to Gaza to talk to Hamas or put her in a mental asylum

I would like someone to tell me with whom can Israel make peace?

Just an old form of antisemitism. It also testifies to the DEPTH of Western antisemitism.

Acting on the basis of hurt pride is usually counterproductive. “Pride” is a mainstay of certain ideologues, but those who follow a Jewish way of life recall the words of Mishlei: “Pride precedes ruination.”

Although the declaration that the settlements are illegal is controversial and was ill-advised, Livni is correct in her assertion that it should not be seen as anti-Israel. Israel should indeed rethink its settlement expansion policy and not suddenly move to expand the settlements as an act of retaliation, as it often does.

Israel does not have to aid other nations if it does not want to, but helping others should not be done with the expectation of getting something in return. Again, it comes back to what it means to be a Jewish state.

It’s anti Israel. as no Israeli in his right mind will agree to return to the Auschwitz borders of pre 1967, as well as no Jew will consent to be called an international outlaw for praying at the Kotel. You are very misguided, and wrong!!

      Reb. congratulation to perfect summation.

    • I tell the Arab-Palestinians! Go ahead try and take my/our Jewish land if you want to try!
There are laws that will stop you and than there is me/us the IDF and other forces that will stop you! We are done being pushed around by anyone and I mean anyone. We will fight back and defend ourselves; we will not let the Holocaust repeat itself – NEVER AGAIN.
As it is now, Israel has the Jewish land by right!
That is just the fact! Israel is in possession of its own historical land and possession is nine tenths of the law.
I am also telling the rest of the world to mind its own business and stay out of Israel’s internal affairs; it includes any people in Israel who want to give away Jewish rights and heritage to others. That includes the criminal biased organization known as the U.N. a corrupt, biased and a parasitic enterprise that must be dismantled. As Jews we are prohibited in giving away Jewish land in Israel and if it given away it is not valid. (See Ben Gurion statement at the 1937 Zionist Convention.
They, the world at large have their own problems to contend with.
They were complicit during WWII when over 6 million Jews, men, women and children were exterminated. This will not happen again! The world stood by while the Arab countries terrorized and expelled over a million Jewish families and their children where they have lived for over 2600 years and confiscated all their assets. Most of those expelled Jewish families were resettled in The Land of Israel, their historical homeland.
There is a real status quo that requires energy to make the change!
Are you going to put in the energy to try to change it???
Maybe it is better to cut your continued losses and accept whatever generous package we the Israelis offer you the Arab-Palestinians, because quite frankly under the current conditions we do not owe the Arab-Palestinians anything (there is also the Faisal Weizmann Agreement of 1919) and we can just unilaterally set our own legal borders insisting that viable land for real Arab-Palestinians self determination already exists in Jordan on Jewish allocated land and historical land (and expelling and confiscating all Jewish assets) which the British in violation of Agreements reallocated to the Arabs over 77% of Jewish allocated land under the San Remo Conference of 1920! The Arab countries were not satisfied with the over 12 million sq. km. with a wealth of oil reserves they were allocated after WWI.
The Arab-Palestinian can also relocate to the Jewish homes and land (over 120,000 sq. km. which is 6 times the size of Israel) previously owned by the million Jewish families who were terrorized and expelled from Arab countries and all their assets and land confiscated by the Arab countries, the confiscated assets and land which is at over six times the size of Israel and is valued in the trillions of dollars.
Israel has resettled the million Jewish families and their children the Jewish refugees expelled from Arab lands, with limited resources.
It is time that the Arab countries resettle the Arab-Palestinians refugees, in Jordan which was suppose to be part of the Jewish state, or the homes and the over 120,000 sq. km. of land that the Arab countries confiscated from the million expelled Jews who owned it for over 2,400 years.
The options we are proposing to the Arab-Palestinians is more than fair, considering you are constantly terrorizing and killing our people every chance you get. That is what you teach your Arab children and masses to do.
It all depends on whether we can see the Arab-Palestinians as peaceful neighbors and there is nothing that they have ever done to date that can lead us to believe that they will be good peaceful neighbors!
On the contrary; their actions and incitement has been more terror and violence, and the indiscriminate killing of men, women and children, including babies in their cribs. Trying to control the U.N. to get what you want unjustly will not work. Start working and stop milking the world nations for funds, which you use mainly to finance terror and violence and your corrupt leaders are stealing a good part of those funds.

Really? It calls everything beyond the Armistice lines – including the Jewish Quarter and the Western Wall and the Temple Mount – “occupied,” thus, demanding to return it, and this is not “anti-Israel” (as in klal Israel, am Israel, and even Torat/daat Israel; I’ll leave aside Eretz Israel)? Perhaps, you should remove “Reb” from your monicker, so as not to confuse gentiles and amoratsim among yidn who may think it to mean “rov.”
