JNS.org – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday that the Jewish state is a “perfect partner” for China as it seeks to grow its high-tech sector.

Following the signing of a number of bilateral agreements identifying areas for increased cooperation in “air pollution control, waste management, environmental monitoring, water conservation and purification, as well as hi-tech fields,” Netanyahu called Chinese-Israeli relations “a marriage made in heaven.”

The countries also plan to establish “a global technology transfer center, innovation parks and an innovative cooperation center.”

“We admire China’s capabilities, its position on the world stage and in history,” Netanyahu said after meeting with his Chinese counterpart at Beijing’s Diaoyutai State Guest House, adding that Xi’s “decision to announce a comprehensive innovation partnership between China and Israel is a tremendously important decision.”

Netanyahu is currently on a 3-day official visit to the Asian nation.
