The owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and investor on the hit ABC show “Shark Tank” said on Sunday that “being Jewish has given me a foundation for everything I am and everything I hope to be,” the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
According to the report, billionaire businessman Mark Cuban made this assertion during a question-and-answer session at the Adelson Educational Campus’ 13th annual “In Pursuit of Excellence Gala,” held at The Venetian in Las Vegas.
At the event, Miriam Adelson — wife of Jewish billionaire philanthropist Sheldon Adelson — said of Cuban that he is a “good person with good values, though he is totally opposite of us in his political views.” Cuban was the recipient of this year’s Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson award for his work in technology and startups.
Previous recipients of the In Pursuit of Excellence Award include former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and Nobel Prize laureate Elie Wiesel.
