Netanyahu to Meet Heads of Four Central European Nations in July
by JNS.org
JNS.org – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will travel to Budapest next month to take part in a summit with the leaders of four central European nations that make up the Visegrad Group (V4).
At the summit July 18-19, Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with heads of state from Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Netanyahu’s trip to Hungary will be the first such visit by an Israeli prime minister since communist rule ended there in 1989. Netanyahu will have both one-on-one meetings and a joint meeting with the V4 leaders. His visit to Budapest follows Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto’s trip to Israel in May.
Earlier this month, Netanyahu visited Greece to meet with Greek and Cypriot leaders as part of Israel’s third trilateral summit with those nations, and attended the ECOWAS summit in Liberia in order to expand Israel’s relations with 15 states in western Africa.
