Prince William and Duchess Kate will visit Holocaust memorials and the site of a former Nazi concentration camp during their trip to Poland and Germany later this month, according to the Jewish Chronicle.
Kensington Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will tour the former Stutthof concentration camp in Poland, the Warsaw Rising Museum and the Berlin Holocaust Memorial. They will meet Holocaust survivors at the latter two locations and also have a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Their five-day trip, which will begin on July 17 in Warsaw, is taking place at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Jewish Chronicle reported. Prince George and Princess Charlotte will also travel with the Duke and Duchess.
Kensington Palace said that Prince William and Duchess Kate will “pay special attention to getting to known the young people of Poland and Germany,” such as entrepreneurs. The Palace added that the couple “look forward to a busy and impactful tour, and are grateful that they will have the opportunity to meet the Polish and German people — such important friends of the United Kingdom — as a family.”
