Trump Aide Jason Greenblatt Arrives in Israel to Continue Peace Push
by JNS.org
JNS.org – President Donald Trump’s international negotiations representative, Jason Greenblatt, arrived in Israel on Sunday night to discuss the next phase in renewed US-led peace efforts in the region. The trip is Greenblatt’s sixth visit to Israel in six months.
Greenblatt is meeting with US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas during this week’s trip.
In June, Greenblatt and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, traveled to both Jerusalem and Ramallah to meet separately with Netanyahu and Abbas. The June meeting reportedly became tense over the issue of the PA’s payments to terrorists and their families.
It is anticipated that in the coming weeks the Trump administration will outline the next steps of a US-led peace effort.
