Top Palestinian Authority Intelligence Official Pays Condolence Visit to Family of Terrorist Killed in Attempted Attack on IDF Troops
The head of the Palestinian Authority’s General Intelligence Service, Majid Faraj, paid a sympathy visit on Wednesday to the family of a terrorist killed while attempting to carry out a car-ramming attack against IDF troops in the West Bank earlier this week, the Hebrew news site nrg reported.
“I’m here today, in my name and on behalf of… Abu Mazen (PA President Mahmoud Abbas), to give you condolences for our shahid, our hero,” Faraj told the family of Muhammad Ibrahim Jibril at their home in the Palestinian town of Tuqu.
On Monday, Jibril drove his car into a group of IDF troops in the Gush Etzion area south of Jerusalem. He was shot dead after he emerged from the vehicle and tried to stab soldiers.
One soldier was lightly wounded in the incident.
On Tuesday, Faraj met in Jerusalem with US President Donald Trump’s international negotiations representative Jason Greenblatt, who is seeking to restart the long-stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
