Even diplomats are entitled to a moment of light relief — and with the help of Israel’s Mission to the UN, delegates from 16 countries did just that this week, in a special greetings video to the Israeli people and Jews around the world on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon explained to viewers that the video showed the Jewish state was no longer isolated at the international body, paying tribute to “true allies who support the State of Israel here at the UN.”

Kicked off by US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley — who wished viewers “health, happiness and peace” — the video then takes a tour through fifteen other UN missions, whose staff offer the greetings “Shalom, Israel,” and “Shana Tovah.”

As well as Haley, diplomats from  Argentina, Germany, Albania, India, Australia, Rwanda, Hungary, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Singapore, Estonia, Uruguay, Austria and Togo also appear in the video.
