JNS.org – An Israeli girl who was wounded in a March 2011 Palestinian terror attack succumbed to her wounds on Wednesday after six years in a coma.

Hodaya Asulin, who was 14 at the time, was headed home to the community of Mevo Horon in Samaria when she was injured by a bomb in a backpack that exploded at a bus stop near the Jerusalem Convention Center. The blast also killed a British national, Mary Jean Gardner, and injured dozens of others nearby.

Palestinian terrorist Hussein Ali Qawasmeh was sentenced to life in prison by a military court for carrying out the terror attack.

“I send condolences from the bottom of my heart to the family of Hodaya Asulin,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement. “The entire Israeli nation is embracing and supporting the family, which wrapped Hodaya in warmth and dedication since the terrible attack. May her memory forever remain blessed and ensconced in our hearts.”
