JNS.org – Israeli security forces recently arrested a Hamas operative who had infiltrated into Israel through a terror tunnel, the country’s defense establishment revealed Thursday.

Majdi Muhammad Abid, 23, from the eastern Gaza Strip neighborhood of Shujaiyya, is a known member of the Palestinian terror group’s “military wing.”

During his interrogation by Israel’s Shin Bet security agency, Abid admitted to being part of Hamas’s terror tunnel enterprise and to digging tunnels in his neighborhood.

Abid was recruited by Hamas in 2013 and received military training, including on anti-tank missiles, engineering and sniping.

Defense officials said that Abid provided interrogators with valuable information about the grid of terror tunnels in Gaza.
