Two Israeli soldiers were killed, and another two were wounded, in a car-ramming attack carried out by a Palestinian terrorist in the West Bank on Friday.

The attack took place near Mevo Dotan, in the northern West Bank.

The terrorist — identified as 26-year-old Ala Qabha, from Barta’a — was taken into custody at the scene and transported to a hospital for medical treatment of injuries he received. According to Israeli media reports, Qabha had served time in prison in the past for security-related offenses, but was released last year.

The IDF tweeted:

The Hamas terrorist group hailed the attack, noting it came 100 days after US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The attack showed “our people are continuing the Jerusalem intifada,” Hamas stated.

In New York, Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon said, “As long as the Palestinian Authority continues to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to terrorists who kill Israelis, we will continue to see such heinous attacks. The international community must condemn this hateful act of terror and demand that the Palestinian leadership finally put an end to the despicable practice of ‘pay to slay.’”
