Defense Minister: Israel Will ‘Settle the Score’ With Gaza Terror Groups Over Ongoing Border Violence

Israel will “settle the score” with Gaza terrorist groups over ongoing violence — including riots and “kite bomb” attacks — on the border, Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman vowed on Monday.
In remarks made at a Yisrael Beitenu faction meeting, Lieberman revealed that around 600 “kite bombs” have been flown across the border from Hamas-ruled Gaza into Israel in recent weeks and around 9,000 dunams of farmland and forests had been burned as a result.
On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a directive for farmers who have suffered losses from the fires to be compensated with tax funds withheld from the Palestinian Authority.
Regarding the situation to Israel’s north, Lieberman said on Monday, “Our position is very clear. We want a very clear arrangement in which Iran is not present in Syrian territory.”
