“Fauda” star and co-creator Lior Raz will co-star in a new action film alongside actor Ryan Reynolds that will be led by acclaimed director Michael Bay, The Hollywood Reporter revealed on Monday.
The film, titled “Six Underground,” is about a group of six men and women who team up to fight criminals. Each member of the team has a numerical code-name and Reynolds’ character is known as “One.” Details about Raz’s character are still unknown.
The Hollywood Reporter noted that the movie has been described as a combination of “Mission: Impossible” and “Deadpool,” the latter of which Reynolds starred in.
Netflix and Skydance are spearheading the project and Bay, the director behind the “Transformers” film series, is among the film’s producers. “Six Underground” is scheduled to begin filming next month in locations including Italy and the United Arab Emirates, according to the report.
The second season of Raz’s internationally acclaimed Israeli series “Fauda” is currently streaming on Netflix. The Israeli actor made his debut in an English-language film with “Mary Magdalene” and he stars in “Operation Finale,” which is about the hunt for and capture of Nazi leader Adolf Eichmann, set to open Aug. 29.
