JNS.org – German police have arrested a Syrian refugee on ‎suspicion of plotting a chemical attack in Israel, ‎local media reported on Friday.‎

The suspect, 21, was allegedly actively recruiting ‎members for a cell that was to carry out the attack at the time of his arrest.

According to media reports, the suspect is believed to be affiliated with the ‎Islamic State group.‎

German police confirmed that the suspect was ‎detained last week after he was involved in a brawl ‎in a Berlin cafe. ‎

The suspicions against him arose following ‎information provided by German intelligence. Police ‎then began tracking the suspect via his cellphone ‎signal, but he was arrested only after the cafe ‎incident. ‎
