JNS.org – After a short manhunt, the Israeli army captured a 19-year-old man from the Palestinian village of Jamma’in near Nablus (known also as Shechem) overnight on Thursday after he stabbed an Israeli reserve soldier at a bus stop outside the Samaria Territorial Brigade base earlier that afternoon.
The operation was carried out by the General Security Service, the Israel Defense Forces and the Border Police Counter-terrorism Unit (Yamam).
The 32-year-old reservist, and a father-of-two, was moderately wounded with stab wounds to his face and upper body. A 26-year-old Israeli woman was lightly injured, sustaining a shrapnel wound in her leg from friendly fire, as IDF troops fired on the terrorist as he fled the scene in a vehicle.
Both victims were evacuated to Beilinson Hospital fully conscious.
The attack occurred at the Maskit Junction between Har Bracha and Itamar. Soldiers and civilians in the vicinity unsuccessfully attempted to neutralize the terrorist at the scene, with troops opening fire as the attacker fled.
Security and military personnel are still working to capture 23-year-old Ashraf Wallid Suleiman Na’alwa, who brutally shot and killed Alon Group employees Kim Levengrond Yehezkel and Ziv Hajbi at the Barkan Industrial Park on Oct. 7 and then fled the scene.
