JNS.org – Masa Israel Journey, the public-service organization that creates engaging international experiences in Israel for those between 18 and 30 years old, gathered approximately 3,000 Masa participants and other General Assembly attendees in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park to sing Clean Bandit’s hit “Rather Be” as “a massive social musical initiative,” according to Masa.

In attendance were new chairman of the Jewish Agency Isaac Herzog, chair of the Board of Trustees of Jewish Agency for Israel Michael Siegal, chairman of the Board for JAFI Dave Felsenthal and many other executives from synagogues, federations and prominent Jewish organizations worldwide.

“Music is and has always been one of society’s greatest connectors. Our event promises to provide a groundbreaking moment of solidarity so desperately needed in the Jewish world today,” said Liran Avisar Ben-Horin, CEO of Masa Israel Journey.

“The effort to unite thousands of Jews in song will underscore the continued and crucial partnership between Jewish Federations, the Jewish Agency for Israel and Masa Israel Journey, which continue to come together to invest in the next generation of Jewish leaders in North America, Israel and worldwide,” she said.

“In my new position, I am thrilled to kickoff this year’s GA with Masa Israel Journey, drawing Israelis and world Jewry closer together,” said Herzog. Previously, he served in the Knesset and was the runner-up in the 2015 election for prime minister.
