In remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC, on Thursday, US President Donald Trump reiterated his administration’s commitment to fighting antisemitism.
Referring to his State of the Union address earlier this week — at which two now-elderly Jews who escaped the Nazi genocide in Europe more than seven decades ago were honored guests — Trump said, “The courageous Holocaust survivors in the gallery on Tuesday night powerfully remind us … of our solemn pledge — never again.”
Trump also mentioned his appointment of Elan Carr as the State Department’s new special envoy to monitor and combat antisemitism, describing Carr as a “very effective person.”
