A top US official visited on Wednesday a Hezbollah tunnel recently uncovered by the IDF on the Israel-Lebanon border.

“Stood ankle deep in mud today inside a tunnel dug into Israel by Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon,” Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Affairs Andrea Thompson said. “The tunnel stretches under the border. Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) provided an in-depth field brief on their successful operation to find these tunnels.”

“The tunnel we saw today is one of nearly a dozen tunnels IDF have discovered in Israel (along the Lebanon border) as the Iran proxy of Hezbollah tries to find new ways to sneak terrorists into Israel to conduct attacks,” she added. “The IDF estimates Hezbollah worked for around 12 years on this particular tunnel, fortifying it and equipping it with electricity and a ventilation system. Many of the tunnels have already been destroyed. This one, discovered about a month ago, will be soon filled with concrete.”

“Iran continues to proliferate their reign of terror across the region, and in many other parts of the world,” she concluded.
