Israeli diplomat Anat Fisher Tsin was elected on Tuesday to serve as deputy chair of the UN Economic and Financial Committee.
The Jewish state’s UN ambassador, Danny Danon, congratulated Fisher Tsin, stating, “This is further proof that we are changing the UN’s hostile atmosphere. The election of Anat adds to the many victories we have reached in recent years that promote the status of the State of Israel in the international community.”
The Israeli UN Mission noted that Fisher Tsin’s achievement came three years after the “historic precedent” set by Danon’s election to serve as chair of the UN Legal Committee, which marked the first time an Israeli representative was chosen to led one of the global body’s permanent committees.
