Israel Prison Service Set to Get First-Ever Female District Commander

For the first time ever, a woman is set to be appointed as a district commander for the Israel Prison Service (IPS), it was announced on Friday.
Katy Perry will become the head of the IPS’s southern district, home to nine jails holding more than 6,000 inmates.
Perry’s appointment has received the approval of Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan.
