The armed wing of Gaza’s Islamic Jihad terror group, known as the Al-Quds Brigade, pretended that photos of a devastating New York City gas explosion on Wednesday show damage from their barrage of rocket strikes on Israel over the past 24 hours.
The Palestine Today news outlet, aligned with the group, posted photos of Israeli police inspecting yesterday’s rocket damage, which can be devastating if hitting an actual person, but cause relatively minor damage if landing in an empty street, as these did.

Intermixed with photos of the actual damage in Israel, they added screenshots from Israel’s Channel 4 coverage of the huge New York City explosion, caused by a gas leak in a Harlem apartment complex, not an Islamic Jihad rocket.
In a statement, the Al Quds Brigade said the onslaught against Israel on Wednesday and Thursday was in response to the IDF’s targeting of three Al-Quds operatives on Tuesday, which, itself, was in response to Islamic Jihad mortars hitting Israel.
Meanwhile, the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, which is the armed wing of Fatah, the party led by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, also claimed responsibility for some of the rocket attacks. In a separate statement, the group, which called the Jews of Israel, “sons of apes and pigs,” claimed that four of the rockets fired from Gaza at Sderot on Wednesday were from them.
Both statements and the misrepresented photos were flagged by pro-Israel blogger Elder of Ziyon on Thursday.
