JNS.org – The UJA Federation of Greater Toronto is raising funds to assist Howie (Chaim) Rothman, a Canadian citizen injured in the Nov. 18 terror attack on a synagogue in Jerusalem’s Har Nof neighborhood.
Rothman’s siblings in Canada said that their brother was struck in the head with a meat cleaver in the attack. Rothman, 54, is the most seriously wounded victim among those who survived. He is currently hospitalized in a coma and blind in one eye as a result of the attack. Rothman has 10 children, and he recently had his first grandchild.
“Although the final prognosis is not in… the ability of Howie Rothman to support his family is going to be incredibly compromised,” Steven Shulman, fundraising campaign director for UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, told CTV.
