Two people were wounded after a Palestinian terrorist stabbed shoppers at a supermarket at the Mishor Adumim industrial area, east of Jerusalem Wednesday afternoon, Israeli Police said.

“The security guard fired at the legs of the assailant, who stabbed two individuals at the Rami Levy Supermarket,” according to police Spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld.

The guard, who works in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, was armed but off-duty at the time of the attack, Ynet News said.

The two victims were taken to Hadassah Hospital in moderate condition, according to medics.

The attacker, aged 16, and the two other suspects in the stabbing are from the nearby village of Azariya, according to the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency).

“We won’t let them stop us. We’re cleaning up and reopening, and going back to routine,” supermarket chain owner Rami Levy told Army Radio.

Levy, a Jerusalem-born rags-to-riches success story, runs a chain of similar discount markets around the country, and in Judea and Samaria, and employs both Israelis and Palestinians.

The markets are considered by both sides to be an oasis a coexistence, despite the tensions, and Israeli residents of West Bank communities and Palestinian villagers shopping together are a common sight in the aisles.
