An Israeli couple who survived a Palestinian rock-throwing attack on Wednesday night recounted their experience to Israeli news outlets this morning.
The couple, Moshe and Erica Marom, were driving near Tekoa in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria), when their car was pelted with stones.
Erica was lightly wounded, as was the couple’s six-month-old baby, who was hit by shards of glass from the car’s shattered windshield and rear window. The couple’s other two children (aged six and three), who were also travelling in the car, suffered panic attacks as a result of the assault.
Moshe Marom told Israel’s Channel 2 that the attack took place as they were on the way from Efrat to Tekoa. As they passed through an Arab village, children aged 8-10 were coming out of school.
“They picked up [concrete cinder] blocks and rocks and pelted our vehicle, from the front and from the back,” he said, adding that it was a “miracle” that something more serious did not happen to his family.
In spite of his fear, he said, he kept his hands on the steering wheel and the accelerator pedal until they were clear of their attackers.
Recounting her experience to nrg, Erica, who works as a producer for the BBC, said the public must understand that even children with stones are capable of killing, “and something must be done to stop this now.”
